Exciting to hear/see news from the Dewaele brothers. First, they built an epic new studio slash living space in their home base of Ghent, Belgium. They commissioned by Dutch architectural firm Glenn Sestig to work with them to create a monolithic modern building that encompasses a magnificent studio, record library, and living space. This place is unbelievable. Deemed “Studio Deewee,” it’s the new home to all things Soulwax and 2manydjs.
They’ve also unveiled a new label, also called Deewee. The first release from the new imprint comes from an act by the name of Klanken which is thought to be a new alias for Stephen and David Dewaele. A short teaser is now available ahead of the release.
Last, but certainly not least, we have a stellar remix of Tame Impala’s “Let It Happen.” Clocking in at just over nine minutes, the Soulwax reinterpretation is a cosmic-funk odyssey. Surely, this is going over well in recent 2manydjs sets. Good stuff.
