Music: Switch Returns With New EP As Member Of Producer Collective With You.

It’s been some time now since Dave Taylor parted ways with Diplo and the Major Lazer project. Taylor’s distinct sound under the Switch guise inspired the ‘fidget-house’ movement a few years back while his other alias, Solid Groove, took a decidedly more deep house and dub direction. After a slew of influential releases, a high profile co-production credit on M.I.A.’s massive hit “Paper Planes” in addition to the release of the first Major Lazer record, many expected Taylor to be in a more high profile position at this point. Regardless, it’s great to see the Switch moniker back in the headlines again.

With You. is a new production collective including Switch, Rick Trainor, Jeff Penalva, Noah Schy, and Daouda Leonard. Their debut EP is already getting a good amount of attention with a recent premier on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show. The four tracker’s lead single, “Speak,” comes with a throwback remix from UK rave heros 2 Bad Mice. The EP also includes two additional original productions – “Not Somewhere” and “Crossing.” Both are very much in the vein of the Switch and Solid Groove sound. Give the EP a listen below.

With You.’s “Speak” EP is out now via the Hypercolour imprint on Beatport.com.
