Film: Watch The Epic ’80’s Inspired Action/Comedy “Kung Fury”

It’s been just under two years since the teaser trailer for “Kung Fury” hit the web. After a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $630,000 from around the globe, we now have the premier of the over the top film in all of its glory.

Born in Sweden, writer-director David Sandberg didn’t have cable growing up. He would hang at his friends houses to get the chance to watch episodes of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Thundercats.” He’d sometimes bring VHS tapes along and record them so he could watch them later. Years later, that passion lead to a career as an animator, designer, and director.

The beloved ’80’s aesthetic and insane action sequences in the teaser for “Kung Fury” struck a chord with so many people online that Hollywood came calling. A feature-length version of the film has now been written and is no doubt on the desks of a few studio execs. The film in it’s current form premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and won over a ton of critics. To top it off, David Hasselhoff got in the action for the film’s theme song produced by Mitch Murder, “True Survivor.” The video also directed by David Sandberg has clocked in at well over 11 million views and counting. Here’s why.

Without further ado, here’s “Kung Fury.”
