Ableton has teamed up with Dancetracks Digital for a remix contest in coordination with Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird Records. Producers are challenged to remix the track “Dum” from the The Martin Brothers new “Rocket Surgery EP.” Top prizes include a digital release on Dirtybird Records, a pair of M-Audio BX8a Deluxe studio monitors, a professional-grade hard drive by Glyph technologies, free download credits on Dancetracks Digital and Ableton merchandise and software and more. Not bad!

Our good friend, Elijah Emanuel and the Revelations bassist, and hip-hop producer Nathan Soultrain has entered a submission. This is interesting because it is his first foray into the dance genre. His rub of the track pays homage to hip-hop, ghetto tech, bass line, fidget, and classic electro. Give it a listen and comment! If you like it, make sure you give him your VOTE!

Finally! After the years of failed collaborations with the likes of Roni Size and DJ Shadow, Zach de la Rocha releases a proper EP (post R.A.T.M.). Its a project called One Day As A Lion with former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore. Definitely has the Rage Against the Machine vibe but that’s ok with us. GO GET THIS EP!!! The first single is a track called “Wild International” and is already getting a lot of buzz. Looking forward to some remixes and live shows!

A little late getting this one up but none the less a big thank you to the good folks at Your Army Online for continuing to send us big tunes from the great artists that they work with. This one is a special treat from Trevor Loveys. City Reverb gets the treatment this time around. The track is the second single from the album ‘Lost City Folk’, which is released on September 15th. Mr. Loveys has been keeping himself particularly busy as of late. He co-produced multiple songs on the new Machines Don’t Care album and co-founded a new label with Affie Yusuf called Tragic Magic. The first release is called ‘Drop It’ by Trevor Loveys with a follow called ‘No Time For Fake Ones’ by Affie Yusuf + Loveys. Both will be on vinyl + digital.

Once again, Fabric compiles another insane cross-genre lineup of electronic goodness. Patchwork Pirates will be banging it out with Sinden, Boy 8-Bit, Starkey, and more!
