Le Castle Vania sent us over a choice tune that he has been dropping in his sets recently. This one takes a familiar Smashing Pumpkins sample and gives it a kick in the ass. A nice follow up to the monster “Messiah” collaboration between he and Computer Club that we love so much. Looking forward to new material from his Always Never and So Sweet indie labels in the coming months.
A big thank you to the good folks at SoundCloud for providing us with a dropbox for artist/label submissions. You will see it just to the right, at the top of the sidebar. This is a new (more convenient) way for you to submit music to us for review. Keep the music coming!! Cheers.
The folks at JazzMutant received some priceless advertising when Daft Punk joined Kanye West during the 50th Grammy Awards to perform “Stronger.” They appeared on stage in their pyramid with four Lemurs. Seems that Justice have also incorporated the Lemur’s into their live show. The backbone of their setup consists of three synchronized Lemurs plugged into Ableton Live.
The Canadian duo formerly known as VNDLSM are now going by the name of AutoErotique. With this change, comes some eagerly awaited new material. “Gladiator” should give you a good idea of what they are about. Looking forward to catching these guys on tour sometime soon. Give the tune a listen and let us know what you think.
Its time for an upgrade!! Its been a couple of years now since we started this project. The fact that the site is still up and gaining new traffic monthly is attributed to our loyal readers. For that we, as well as the artists we promote thank you. As you can see from the lack of Google Ad-Words and banners the focus has never been about putting money in our pockets. Our goal is to have you put those dollars in the pockets of the artists we promote through providing easy ways to purchase their music, see shows, etc. With this being said, we arent in the position to hire an agency (unless they are willing to donate their time) to help us with branding. So we thought we would throw it out to you, our friends, to assist. So this goes out to all of you graphic designers out there who check in with us for your daily dose of decadent electronic music. Care to put your creative genius to work for a good cause in return for exposure/promotion on the site and eternal gratitude? If so, please submit inquiries to strictlysocial.com (at) gmail (dot) com or leave a comment for us with a way to contact you. From there we can give you further details. Thanks in advance! Hope to hear from you.
As previously reported. The Justice tour documentary “A Cross the Universe” is set to be released on November 24th (with live CD) through Because Music. Its along the same vein as Soulwax’s recent “Part of the Weekend Never Dies” film. Lots of performance footage and behind the scenes goodness. Shot by director friends Romain Gavras (directed video for “Stress“) and So-Me over three weeks of their second US tour. Very much looking forward to this. Promo tour with the rest of the Ed Banger crew begins in a couple of weeks. Details above. Go check them out when they roll through your town. Thank you to Fubiz for the new clip!
Van She Tech, Playgroup (Trevor Jackson), and Classix booked for the upcoming installment of the Scion House Party series in LA. Free with RSVP but still highly recommend you get there early to get in.

We are very excited about the notion that some new Basement Jaxx material is on its way later this year. They continue to evolve and take dance music to new and exotic places with each subsequent album. In the meantime, the Jaxx have recently released the “Planet 2″ EP on their Atlantix Jaxx label. This is a special pink vinyl only release that hit the shops on September 12th. The “Planet 1″ EP was released back in August on yellow vinyl. No word yet on a digital versions of each. Will keep you posted.
In celebration of the new EP we present you with one of our favorite remixes of 1999’s “Red Alert” by Steve Gurley. This one will bring you back to the glory days of the 2-Step movement in the UK. Good stuff.
